Thompson Electric drops Logan County Cooperative

Thompson Electric defeated Logan County Cooperative 13-4 in a recent Farm League meeting.

Layne Castle earned the win on the mound for Thompson Electric with nine strikeouts. He also went 2-2 on offense with two RBI.

Also for the winners, Mason Plikerd went 3-4 with two RBI, Keyon Collier went 2-2 with three RBI and Ethan Yoder added a triple.

For Logan County Cooperative, Corbin Baker went 2-3 with an RBI.

Huntsville II takes second in tournament

Huntsville II Woody’s Diner coach pitch team recently finished the regular season undefeated and took second in the postseason tournament.

Woody’s Diner wrapped up the regular season by beating Belle Center II 16-4 and DeGraff II 34-11. Camdon Tuttle, Dawson Finfrock and Tyler Michael all had home runs.

In the postseason tournament, Woody’s Diner started off with a 10-6 loss to Belle Center II, but bounced back to win the next seven games. Huntsville II defeated Zanesfield III 22-0, DeGraff II 13-1, Huntsville I 16-3, Lakeview II 11-3, West Liberty III 9-8, Belle Center I 18-9 and Quincy I 26-16.

In the championship games, Huntsville II defeated Zanesfield I 9-7 in the first game, but fell behind early in the second game and came up short 18-17.

LITTLE LEAGUE

National Salt Distributors downs Rushsylvania

Bellefontaine National Salt Distributors picked up a 14-5 win over Rushsylvania in a recent Little League contest.

Offensively for National Salt, Chris Carpenter went 4-4 with a double and a triple, Tanner Wical went 3-4 with a double, Tanner Harte had a double and a triple and Miles Harte went 3-4.
