9 local girls named to CBC first team

Bellefontaine had four first-team selections and Indian Lake had three to highlight the recently released all-Central Buckeye Conference softball squads.

The Chiefs’ Jazmyn Haley, MacKenzie Brunswick, Jenna VanHoose and Carley Strzalka were named to the Kenton Trail division first team.

On the Mad River division side, Indian Lake was represented on the first team in Ashley Franks, Jordan Risner and Sammi Miller.

The three Lakers were joined on the Mad River first team by Benjamin Logan’s Kate Campbell and Darian Rockhold.

Local special mention selections included Bellefontaine’s Jaelynn Roberts, Ben Logan’s Sydney Evans and Indian Lake’s Taylor Dixon.

Receiving sportsmanship awards were Bellefontaine’s Amanda Cole, Ben Logan’s Dallas Deickert and Indian Lake’s Tori Lones.

Northwestern’s Maddie Crew was the Mad River player of the year, while Kenton Ridge’s Courtney Lopez and Springfield Shawnee’s Emily McKillip shared that honor for the Kenton Trail team.
