Bellefontaine’s boys and girls track and field teams won Logan County meet titles by comfortable margins Tuesday at Riverside High School.

The event was canceled after the 300 hurdles because of lightning. The girls meet only scored 12 of 17 events, while the boys meet only scored 11 events.
The Chieftain girls won 94-64 over Benjamin Logan, with Indian Lake finishing third with 58 points. Riverside was fourth with 26 points and Calvary Christian was fifth with two points.
Bellefontaine grabbed the boys title with 79 points, while the Raiders edged the Lakers 66-65 to take the runner-up spot. The Pirates came in fourth with six points and the Spartans were fifth with three points.
Bellefontaine’s girls team was sparked by two individual wins from Brenda Johnson, who took first in the discus (105-1) and the shot put (39-10).
Also taking first for the Chiefs were Erin Levine in the 100 hurdles (17.4), Olivia Martin in the long jump (14-5 1/2), Rosie Hyden in the pole vault (8-6), the 800 relay (1:55.3) and the 3,200 relay (12:13.8).
Placing second were Ryelee Clary in the 400 (1:07.08), Sabella Martin in the discus (99-11) and the 400 relay (54.2), while third-place finishes came from Kameren Haley in the 100 (13.2), Mallory Stolly in the 1,600 (6:03.04) and Sabella Martin in the shot put (32-7).
Finishing first for Ben Logan’s girls were Alex Thompson in the high jump (4-10) and Coreen Crosby in the 400 (1:06.6)
Runner-up efforts for the Raiders came from Allie Wilson in the 100 hurdles (17.5), Crosby in the high jump (4-8), Jennifer Poling in the shot put (33-9 1/2) and the 3,200 relay (12:18.03).
Coming in third for the Raiders were Crosby in the long jump (14-3 1/2), Hailey Lockwood in the 100 hurdles (17.8), the 400 relay (56.2) and the 800 relay (1:58.2).
