Chieftain netters open season at CBC tourney

Bellefontaine’s boys tennis team opened its season Saturday by participating in the Central Buckeye Conference preseason tournament at Thomas Cloud Park in Huber Heights.

“It was great to get a chance to see the rest of the league, and the CBC looks to be strong this year,” said BHS head coach James Howell. “I am proud of the way all of our players came out and represented Bellefontaine, especially our freshmen who had not seen this type of action.”

Tyler Frantz filled the first singles spot for the Chiefs. He fell in both of his matches. He was defeated 8-0 by Pettigrew of Northwestern and 8-1 by Talley from Stebbins.
