Chiefs take down Aviators

Bellefontaine Chiefs

Drake Roebuck and Connor Burton each drove in three runs to lead visiting Bellefontaine to a 10-5 win over host Vandalia-Butler in a non-league baseball game Friday.

The Chiefs, who had not played since a 5-0 win over West Liberty-Salem on Monday, are now 2-0 on the season.

Bellefontaine led 1-0 after one inning and then exploded for five runs in the top of the third for a 6-0 lead.

The Aviators came back with three runs in the bottom of the third and another in the fourth to make the score 6-4.

Bellefontaine opened up some breathing room with a two-run fifth for an 8-4 lead.

The Chiefs tacked on two more in the top of the seventh.

Vandalia-Butler rounded out the scoring with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Roebuck went 2-3 with a double.

Jarrod Houchin also had a good day at the plate, going 2-4 with a triple. It was his second triple of the week.
