WILMINGTON — “Be a hammer.”
It is a style and phrase that is often yelled and expected from the Indian Lake wrestling corner, and the Lakers’ middle weights showcased that style with force here Saturday at the Division II district tournament.
The trio of seniors Heath Lange (145), Reyse Wallbrown (152) and L.J. Henderson (182) all gave impressive performances and qualified through to the Division II state tournament this weekend in Columbus.
“This finish was about what we expected,” said Indian Lake head coach Scott Tressler. “Those guys performed like you would want your upperclassmen to perform.
“I think it shows the culmination of all their hard work. It is also big for the program and shows our younger guys what it takes to perform at this level. It shows how much work it takes to reach the state tournament.”
