NEW CARLISLE — Greenon exacted revenge from a regular-season loss to Bellefontaine with a dominating performance here Thursday night in Division II girls sectional basketball tournament action.

The Knights charged out to a 25-9 lead at the end of the first quarter en route to a 61-45 victory at Tecumseh High School.

Greenon sliced and diced its way through the Bellefontaine defense early on for layup after layup in building its 16-point lead.

“We were shell shocked a little bit there at the start of the game,” said Bellefontaine coach Brian Hogan. “We weren’t communicating on some of their cuts and they exploited our overplaying of the passing lanes.”
