Eagles thrive inside and out to stifle Raiders in sectional tourney opener

NEW CARLISLE — Eaton cashed in both close to the basket and far away from it to overwhelm Benjamin Logan in a Division II girls sectional tournament game Wednesday.

The third-seeded Eagles buried 11 three-pointers — with eight coming from junior guard Autumn Whirley — and also did a lot of damage in the paint to turn back the Raiders 66-31 at Tecumseh High School.

“They are a really good team,” said Ben Logan head coach Donnie Sosby. “Their size hurt us inside and they shot the ball extremely well. We couldn’t get out to their shooters in time, and they knocked down a lot of shots.”
