Chieftains get fourth seed for sectional tournament

Bellefontaine’s boys basketball team was awarded the fourth seed for the Division II Springfield sectional during Sunday’s draw meeting.

The Chiefs took a first-round bye. They will play the winner of the first-round game between top-seeded Urbana and Graham at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Springfield High School.

Benjamin Logan also has a first-round bye in the Division II sectional. The Raiders begin tourney play Feb. 25 at 8:30 p.m. against the Tippecanoe-Meadowdale winner.

Indian Lake was matched against Kenton Ridge for a first-round game Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. at Springfield.

In Division III, West Liberty-Salem took a first-round bye for sectional play at Tippecanoe High School. The Tigers play Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. against the National Trail-Stivers winner.

The Division IV sectional draw for games at Piqua High School saw Triad paired with Lehman for a game Friday, Feb. 21, at 8:30 p.m. and Riverside matched with Mississinawa Valley for a first-round contest Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.
