Trojans hold Tigers in check

Southeastern’s girls basketball team took an early lead and stayed in front the rest of the way for a 46-35 win over host West Liberty-Salem on Thursday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

The Tigers slide to 11-9 overall and 8-4 in the OHC.

Southeastern grabbed a 7-4 edge after the opening period and the visitors were in front by seven points (22-15) at halftime.

The third quarter saw Southeastern push its lead to 10 at 37-27.

Jamie Peterson, Lauren Godwin and Mia Walters had eight points each to lead the Tigers.
