Red Devils scorch Bellefontaine girls 66-28

Bellefontaine’s girls basketball team lost by only two points in its first meeting with Tippecanoe. The outcome was much different in the rematch Monday night.

A dominant first-half performance allowed the Red Devils to cruise to a 66-28 win over visiting Bellefontaine in Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division action.

The Red Devils move their mark to 14-2 overall and 7-1 in the CBC Kenton Trail division. The Chieftains drop to 8-10, 3-5.

Tippecanoe didn’t waste time getting its offense going in the first half. The Red Devils raced out to a 38-6 lead at halftime.

The third quarter saw Tippecanoe push its lead to 33 points at 50-17.

Jazmyn Haley led BHS with 12 points and eight rebounds and MacKenzie Brunswick added eight points.

In junior varsity action, Tippecanoe rolled to a 44-16 victory over BHS. Sydney Burton led the Chieftains with six points.

Bellefontaine is back in action today at home against Thurgood Marshall in a non-league game.
