The win boosts the Pirates to 4-7 on the season.

“The girls did a great job keeping their composure down the stretch and weathered a great comeback from SCC,” said RHS head coach Corey Britton. “Our girls made enough plays down the stretch to come out with a win.”

Riverside jumped out to a 32-17 lead at halftime. Catholic Central mounted a second-half comeback, though.

The Irish outscored RHS 13-8 in the third quarter to trail 40-30. Catholic Central then outscored the Pirates 14-4 in the fourth quarter to tie the game 44-44 at the end of regulation.

In the first overtime, both squads scored seven points to keep the game even at 51-51.
