Chieftains look to keep their winning streak alive against talented Tippecanoe

Bellefontaine’s boys basketball team has won three straight games after falling to Celina in the season opener. The Chiefs will try to stretch their streak to four against Tippecanoe on Friday.

The Chiefs and Red Devils meet Friday night in Tipp City for a key Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division game. Both teams are 1-0 in league play. The Red Devils are 2-0 overall.

As a result of its run to the Division III state semifinals in football, Tippecanoe did not play its first basketball game until Dec. 10, which was a 78-47 win over Benjamin Logan.

“They got off to a bit of a late start, but Coach (Marcus) Bixler has done a nice job getting his guys ready for the season,” said BHS head coach Henry Stolly. “They are playing well together and playing with confidence.”
