There was a look of disbelief on the faces of Cedarville’s boys basketball team when the final buzzer sounded Tuesday night.

The Indians’ players appeared to have a hard time registering what just happened to them after host West Liberty-Salem overcame a 17-point halftime deficit to escape with a 50-47 Ohio Heritage Conference victory.

“We could have been beaten by 40 tonight, but the guys made a commitment at halftime to not get pushed around,” said WL-Salem head coach Darrin Leichty. “They showed a toughness tonight that we’ll need later this season.”
