Calvary Christian wins junior high state tournament

The Calvary Christian junior high soccer team beat Central Christian Academy 2-1 to win the championship in the Ohio Christian School Athletic Association soccer tournament.

The Calvary Christian junior high soccer team capped a perfect season by winning the Ohio Christian School Athletic Association state championship. Team members are, from the left, front row: Daniel Wilt, Rylan Studebaker, Garrett Criner, Derek Robb, Pete Kratz and Garrett Reinhard; and back row: Coach Studebaker, Cody Kuhn, Tyler Reinhard, Josh Kilgore, Lauran Barthauer, Chantel Smithers, Andrew Reinhard, Noah Labelle, Coach Reinhard, Christopher Myers, Jon Salmonowicz and Coach Kratz.

The Spartans finished the season 21-0.

“It was a great honor and privilege to play against the best Christian schools in Ohio,” said Calvary coach Lee Reinhard. “The coaching staff is extremely proud of our team. It is very rare for a team to win a regular season, win a county tournament, win a state tournament and finish the entire season undefeated.
