Calvary wins tourney title


High Point Stars win tourney

The High Point Stars, a local under-10 travel soccer team, won their league tournament last week. The Stars outscored their opponents 13-5. County champs

The Calvary Christian junior high soccer team captured the county tournament championship. Team members are, from the left, front row: Chantel Smithers, Garrett Reinhard, Rylan Studebaker, Derek Robb and Pete Kratz; and back row: Josh Kilgore, Andrew Reinhard, Garrett Criner, Christopher Myers, Coach Studebaker, Tyler Reinhard, Jon Salmonowicz, Daniel Wilt, Noah Labelle, Cody Kuhn, Lauren Barthauer, Coach Kratz and Coach Reinhard.

The Calvary Christian junior high soccer team defeated West Liberty II by a score of 4-1 to win the county tournament championship.

The Spartans finished their season with a 19-0 record.

Tyler Reinhard tallied two goals and Rylan Studebaker and Josh Kilgore each scored one goal for the winners. Reinhard, Jon Salmonowicz and Rylan Studebaker each had an assist.

Garrett Criner notched five saves in goal for Calvary.

LCS Elite takes third

LCS Elite (Indian Lake I) grabbed third place in the junior high soccer tournament with a 2-0 win over Bellefontaine on Monday.

Nikolas Vance scored both goals for LCS Elite. Xander Vance provided an assist, while David Haley recorded the shutout in goal.
