CLAYTON — For the third time in four years, West Liberty-Salem’s boys cross country team is a district champion.
The Tigers gave another impressive performance at the Division III district meet here Saturday at Miami Valley Career Technical Center, capturing the program’s 14th overall district title.
WL-Salem’s girls also continued their postseason success by qualifying to the regional meet as a team for the 10th consecutive year, while Riverside’s Ella Jackson advanced as an individual.
The top four teams and top 16 individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the regional meet Saturday in Troy.
“At some point you run out of words to describe the effort that our program has put forth, not only this season, but the past four of five years,” said WL-Salem boys head coach Mike Louden.
“I’ve been truly blessed to have had such dedicated and loyal kids these past five years that have just bought into what our family has to offer. I will continue to say that this family succeeds because of each other and the support that they get from the Big Orange family.”
