NEW CARLISLE — Benjamin Logan was backed into a corner here Thursday night. The Raiders fought like crazy to get out.

Down two sets to none against rival Bellefontaine, Ben Logan pulled out an improbable 26-28, 22-25, 25-10, 26-24, 16-14 victory in a thrilling Division II sectional semifinal at Tecumseh High School.

Bellefontaine played for the match point in both the fourth and fifth sets, but the Raiders found a way to hang on both times.

“I am so proud of the girls,” said Ben Logan head coach Allison Reule, who will lead her team against top-seeded Kenton Ridge in Saturday’s sectional final at 1:30 p.m. “We’ve preached these things all season, and it was nice to see it all come together tonight.

“I have to give a lot of credit to my assistants. They helped to make some key adjustments, and that was big for us.”
