WL-Salem bounces Bulldogs to earn spot in sectional title game

West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball squad advanced to the sectional final after rallying to drop Milton-Union in four sets Tuesday 17-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17 in a Division III tournament game at Brookville High School.

The Tigers move on to face state-ranked Versailles in the sectional championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Brookville.

Jamie Peterson powered WL-Salem’s win on Tuesday with 17 kills, 17 digs and 10 blocks. Also aiding in the win were Kylee Hormann with eight kills and nine digs, Rachel Loffing with nine kills and four blocks, Abbey Siegenthaler with five aces and Rachel Ritter with 11 digs.

Versailles, the top-seeded team in the Brookville sectional, advanced to Saturday’s matchup with a three-set win over Houston on Tuesday.
