Tiger squads take second at OHC

West Liberty-Salem’s boys and girls junior high cross country teams came away with a pair of runner-up finishes Saturday during the Ohio Heritage Conference meet at the Ohio Caverns.

Cedarville held off WL-Salem 32-37 to claim the OHC girls title, while Mechanicsburg was third with 54 points and Springfield Catholic Central was fourth with 66 points.

In an incredibly close boys team race, Cedarville edged WL-Salem 45-47 to win the OHC championship. Mechanicsburg was one point behind in third with 48 points and South Vienna took fourth with 71 points.

Leading the Tiger girls were Reghan Bieleski in first with a winning time of 12:06 and Joanna Csillag in third with a time of 13:05.

Also in action were Kaeley Lattimer in 10th (14:02), Ashley Black in 12th (14:26), Anna Louden in 16th (14:46), Rachel McGill in 19th (15:19), Taylor Henault in 20th (15:27), Maddie Estes in 22nd (16:07), Alexis Eshelman in 26th (17:48) and Anna Edwards in 28th (18:11).

For the Tiger boys, Isaac Smith was second (12:14), Jordan Lewis was third (12:22), Gabe Lewis was 10th (13:31) and Richard Godwin was 12th (13:49).

For Triad’s girls, Holly Cole was 11th (14:07) and Kylie Curtin was 21st (15:58).

The Cardinal boys had one runner with Jared Anderson, who finished 19th (15:01).
