WL-Salem unable to contain Cedarville in OHC loss

West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball team could not get on track Thursday in a three-set loss to visiting Cedarville 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

Jamie Peterson led the Tigers’ efforts with 14 kills, 16 digs and five blocks.

Also contributing for WL-Salem were Abbey Siegenthaler with 14 digs, Kylie Gilroy with four aces and 24 assists, Mollie Etgen with four kills and Kylee Hormann with four blocks and four kills.

In junior varsity action, WL-Salem defeated Cedarville 25-19, 25-18.

For the Tigers, Kursten Nisonger had three kills, Kelby Strapp had five digs, Kiana Reames had five aces and Abby Stewart added five aces.

WL-Salem begins sectional tournament action Saturday against Arcanum at Brookville High School.
