Bellefontaine’s boys soccer team received a momentum boost after dropping visiting New Knoxville 2-0 on Monday in non-league action.

The Chieftains are now 6-7-2 on the season.

“We really needed this win,” said BHS boys head coach Steve Henry. “We have had a down spell and our confidence was missing. Tonight, I saw some of the bounce in our game that we have had at different times this year.

“Two players that really stood out to me were Nick Heydinger and Zach Schmid. Nick’s leadership was so positive and effective that it just lifted the whole team up. Zach just played his position with a lot of toughness and finesse.”
