Keeping focused is the goal for unbeaten Tigers

When the wins pile up it is easy to become complacent on the football field. That is something West Liberty-Salem wants to make sure doesn’t happen.

The Tigers have averaged over 50 points per game this season and will look to continue its momentum Friday when it travels to Northeastern for an Ohio Heritage Conference contest. Game time is 7 p.m.

WL-Salem, 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the league, has won 28 consecutive regular-season games. The Tigers have not lost since Week 6 of the 2010 season.

That is a statistic the Tigers ignore.

“We don’t ever mention any win streak,” said WL-Salem head coach Dan McGill. “We just stay focused on trying to improve and get prepared for the next opponent.
