Chieftain volleyball squad takes second at Piqua Invite


Bellefontaine’s volleyball team claimed runner-up honors out of seven teams at the Piqua Invitational on Saturday.

The Chieftains defeated Cincinnati Hills 18-25, 25-23, 25-23 and then dropped the host Indians 20-25, 25-16, 25-16. In the championship match, Coldwater beat Bellefontaine 25-20, 25-16.

Kenzie Brunswick led BHS with 31 kills, 28 digs and was perfect serving, Jazmyn Haley had 18 kills, Kameren Haley tallied 14 kills, Jordan Lininger had 62 assists and was 38-41 serving, Amanda Case had 35 digs and Michaela Baker totaled 20 digs.

Bellefontaine travels to Sidney today for a non-league contest.
