Gophers’ Mouser shines at NWCC tourney

Ridgemont sophomore earns medalist honor

Local squads Ridgemont and Riverside did not fare well in the team race at the Northwest Central Conference golf tournament Wednesday in Kenton, but it was a memorable day for one area individual.

The Gophers’ Devin Mouser claimed medalist honors for the tournament with a round of 85.

The next best score was an 88 from Perry’s Tanner Foley.

Upper Scioto Valley won the team title with a 385. Perry and Lehman each finished with a 388, but Perry was awarded second place on the fifth-score tiebreaker.

Lima Temple Christian finished fourth with a 389, Ridgemont took fifth with a 413, Riverside shot 419 for sixth and Waynesfield-Goshen rounded out the field in seventh with a 427.

Landon Kelsey turned in the low round for Riverside with a 94. Ross Stevens followed with a 96, Jared Trabert carded a 108, Luke Lowery had a 120, Derek Kobylack had a 127 and Andrew Wright shot 148.
