Bellefontaine girls can’t recover from slow start

soccer

Greenon’s girls soccer team struck early and went on to beat visiting Bellefontaine 4-1 on Monday in a Central Buckeye Conference contest.

The Knights bump their record to 4-4-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the CBC. The Chieftains are now 3-4-1, 2-2-1.

Greenon’s offense rolled in the first half and grabbed an early 4-0 lead.

The Chiefs’ Michelle Edu got her squad on the scoreboard before the break with a goal off an assist from Liz Martin for a 4-1 score.

Neither team scored in the second half as the Knights held on for the win.

“We were a lot more organized in the second half than we were in the first, which made a big difference for our defense,” said BHS  head coach Matt Price.
