Northeastern zips past BHS netters

Bellefontaine’s girls tennis team was defeated by Northeastern 5-0 on Monday in non-league action.

The Jets won all of the matches in straight sets.

Northeastern’s Kaleigh Cummins won 6-2, 6-2 over Kiersten Daum at first singles, the Jets’ Lindsey Whitley won 6-1, 6-0 over Traysa Downing at second singles and Northeastern’s Madison Fielding prevailed 6-1, 6-1 over Jenna Champion at third singles.

Bellefontaine’s Hannah Vance and Hannah Weimer were defeated by Maranda Ruse and Halley Hinderer 6-0, 6-4 at first doubles.

The Jets won the second doubles match by forfeit.
