Goals pile up for Lady Tigers in win over Cardinals

West Liberty-Salem’s girls soccer team dominated host Triad for a 10-0 victory on Tuesday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.

The Tigers improve their record to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the OHC.

Morgan Freyhof led the attack for WL-Salem with three goals and one assist. Destiny Kolata had two goals, Annika Wolfe had one goal and three assists, Ashleigh Gieseke had one goal and one assist, while Madison Oelker, Christy Kauffman and Catherine Williams each had one goal.

Jocelyn Wilson and Mary Shank each added one assist.

Defensively, Bell Clark recorded two saves and combined with April Kelley for the shutout in goal.

WL-Salem hosts Springfield Catholic Central on Thursday in OHC play.

BOYS SOCCER

Tigers edge Cardinals

West Liberty-Salem’s boys soccer team edged host Triad 2-1 on Thursday in an Ohio Heritage Conference meeting.

The Tigers are now 2-2-1 on the season.

Eli Woodruff and Byler Williamson each scored goals for WL-Salem, while Garrett Conklin provided an assist.

Defensively for the Tigers, Sam Warye had five saves in goal.

WL-Salem hosts state-ranked Springfield Catholic Central on Thursday in OHC action.
