West Liberty-Salem’s boys cross country team grabbed a fourth-place finish Saturday at the Greenville Treaty City Invitational by placing fourth out of 22 teams in the Division III race.
South Adams of Indiana won the boys Division III race with 47 points, Russia was second with 107, New Bremen was third with 127 and the Tigers, who are ranked 22nd in the latest state poll, were fourth with 153 points.
“This time of the year you are just trying to get into the feel of competition and get an idea of where you might stand,” said WL-Salem boys head coach Mike Louden. “Right now, I really like the position we are in going forward. To finish fourth overall and to knock off several state-ranked teams including St. Henry, Coldwater and Versailles gives us some early season confidence.”
