Redskins turn away Laker boys 5-1

soccer

Wapakoneta’s boys soccer team dropped host Indian Lake 5-1 on Saturday in a non-league meeting.

The Redskins remain unbeaten at 4-0 as the Lakers fall to 4-2 on the season.

“Wapak is a quality team and there is a reason they are 4-0 and have been scoring a lot of goals,” said Indian Lake boys head coach Jon Shoffstall. “We didn’t play to our full potential in the first half. Because of this we got behind early.

“After about an hour halftime due to a lighting delay, we came out focused and proved we could play with them. We played much more aggressive in the second half and passed the ball well. I’m proud of the effort we gave in the second half.”
