West Liberty-Salem’s boys and Bellefontaine’s girls each edged out team victories by three points or less, and the Tigers’ Alyssa Strickland pulled away late to highlight an individual win in the girls race.

The Tiger boys held on to edge the Chieftains 28-31 to win the county meet for the fourth consecutive year. Benjamin Logan rounded out the team scores in third with 69 points.

“There was nothing pretty about how we accomplished the goal of winning the meet for the fourth consecutive year,” said WL-Salem boys head coach Mike Louden. “We were able to do just enough to pull out the victory.

Bellefontaine’s girls knocked off WL-Salem 43-46 to claim the girls county title. The Raiders were third with 66 points, Indian Lake came in fourth with 72 points and Triad was fifth with 87 points.
