WL-Salem golfers coast past M’burg with record score


West Liberty-Salem had three players shoot in the 30s in rolling to a 147-213 victory over Mechanicsburg on Tuesday at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

The Tigers’ 147 is a new school record for nine holes.

“We continue to bounce back from bad shots and poorly played holes,” said WL-Salem coach Darrin Leichty. “We need to continue improving on this each time out.”

Jacob Rutan was the medalist for the Tigers with a 34. Ethan McBean was close behind with a 36 and Nick Sims shot 37.
