Bellefontaine booters edge Tigers

Following a scoreless first half, Bellefontaine outscored host West Liberty-Salem 2-1 in the second half to pull out a non-league boys soccer win Monday night.

The Chiefs are now 1-1 on the season.

“This was a gritty win for us,” said BHS head coach Steve Henry. “We didn’t play with a lot of skill, but we toughed it out. Our defense played well except for a couple moments, but we are really young back there. I have been happy with their progress.”

“Coach (Tim) Wolfe has to be happy with the way that they fought back from two down. It could have easily ended in a tie.”
