Riverside junior standout Ella Jackson and the Benjamin Logan’s boys team each came in second.
Northwestern ran away with the boys meet after scoring 19 points and claiming five of the top six spots. Host Ben Logan edged Tecumseh 59-60 to take runner-up honors and Mechanicsburg was fourth with 110.
Tecumseh held off the Warriors 23-34 to claim the top spot in the girls meet. The Raiders were third with 83 and Indian Lake was fourth with 106.
Jackson recorded her second-place finish in the girls race with a time of 22:16.2.
“I thought I did OK,” said Jackson. “It’s a starting point. I was expecting to do a little better.”
Last year at the Early Bird meet, Jackson was in position to win, but got turned around on the course and ended up second.
