Ricketts runs away with Cherokee title

Blaine Ricketts fired two consecutive rounds of three-under-par 69 to run away with the Cherokee Hills Golf Course/A1 Painting and Drywall club championship last weekend.

The Belle Center resident, who was a standout prep golfer at Benjamin Logan, finished with a two-day total of 138.

Tim Guckert was second in Championship Flight with 144, Tony Drain was third with 154, Brad Maples took fourth at 158 and Kevin Armstrong and Chuck Lefebvre tied for fifth with 161s.

Also in Championship Flight, Tom Bodi had a 162, Wes Dodds had 163 and Steve Zirkle finished with 164.
