Bellefontaine won despite having to again forfeit the second doubles match.
“The girls have been working very hard and I am happy to see their hard work pay off in the form of a win tonight,” said BHS coach James Howell.
Bellefontaine swept the three singles matches.
The Chiefs’ Kiersten Daum defeated Kaitlyn Flaherty 6-4, 6-2 at first singles, Kenzie Collinsworth won 6-2, 7-5 over the Pioneers’ Miranda Varabiner at second singles and the Chiefs’ Hannah Weimer prevailed 6-1, 6-2 over Chelsi Mason at third singles.
“Kenzie showed great poise in her second singles match,” said Howell. “She found herself down 4-5 in the second set and was able to win three consecutive games to win her match.”
The Pioneers took the first doubles match as Rebecca Caldwell and Lindsey Alexander won 7-6, 6-3 over Hannah Vance and Traysa Downing.
Bellefontaine is back in action today at home against Northwestern.
