Chiefs finish second in own tourney

Bellefontaine’s boys golf team capped the week of local golf tournaments with a runner-up at finish at its own Ryan Reynolds Invitational on Thursday at Liberty Hills Golf Club.

Tecumseh ran away with the championship with a score of 305, while the Chieftains were runners-up with 321. Kenton was close behind in third with 325 and Benjamin Logan took fourth with 329. Springfield Shawnee was fifth with 339 and the Braves’ B team was sixth with 361.

The Chieftains’ B squad came in seventh with 369, Indian Lake was eighth with 373 and Riverside rounded out the team scores with a 459.

Springfield Shawnee’s Evan Lyons was medalist with a 68. He carded 35 on the front nine at Liberty Hills and posted a 33 on the back nine.

Cody Lyons powered BHS with a team low of 77. Nate Langenfeld fired an 80, while Cody Hullinger and Connor Adelsberger each carded 82s and Jarrett Beck added an 87.

The Raiders were spearheaded by Grant Ricketts with an area-best 71, Garret Dunn had an 82, T.J. Fink shot an 87, Tanner Rader had an 89 and Alex Bickham rounded out the group with a 97.

Bellefontaine’s B team was led by Grant Brown with an 86. Devin Fowler posted a 92, Zack Reames had a 93, Javon Warner carded a 98 and Chris Ray had a 114.

Caleb Meadows sparked the Lakers with a 75. Randall Henson was next best with an 89, Quenten Staley had a 95, Joe Corwin shot a 114 and Jalon Tuttle added a 119.

For Riverside, Landon Kelsey led with a 91, Ross Stevens carded a 109, Jared Trabert had a 124 and Derek Kobylack had a 135.
