Bellefontaine beat Springfield 4-2 in an opening round game Saturday and then thumped Beavercreek 9-2 in Sunday’s semifinal round at Blue Jacket Park.
Now 20-3 on the season, Easton Water plays Springfield at 6 p.m. tonight for a berth in the state tournament. If Springfield wins, there will be a second game at 8:30 p.m. to determine the state qualifier.
“It was pretty much the same story for us,” said Bellefontaine head coach Don Hensley of his team’s two district wins. “It starts with pitching. It has been a while since we have given up a lot of runs. We continue to pitch well and play good defense.”
