Bellefontaine swimmers take down Tipp City

Bellefontaine’s summer swim team has not fared well against Tipp City’s powerful program in the past, but the local swimmers changed that Saturday.

Fueled by three new team records, Bellefontaine beat Tipp City 393-323 in a home meet at Hoffman Pool.

Setting new records for Bellefontaine were Amy Fulmer in the girls 11-12 age division 25 backstroke (15.50), Emily Fulmer in the girls 13-14 50 butterfly (30.58) and the boys 15-18 200 freestyle relay of Josh Haisley, Skyler Tavenner, Andy Ames and Isaiah Brady (1:42.32).

In the open 100 freestyle, Jessica Miller won on the girls side (1:03.49) and Isaiah Brady won for the boys (1:01.47).
