Logan County Cubs thump Olentangy

Local boys win tournaments

The Mid-State Heat, a 10-and-under travel baseball team that features nine Benjamin Logan students, recently won the Butler Memorial Tournament in Maumee and the Eagle Classic Tournament in Sunbury. Team members are, from the left, first row: Johnny Campbell and Brady Burrey; second row: Triston Hazel, Blake Peterson and Tanner Anspach; third row: Nolan Roose, Jack Christian, Dominic Roose, Jacob McKenrick and Cadman Roose; and fourth row: coaches John Campbell, Marlen Roose and Jeremy Burrey.

The Logan County Cubs cruised to a 13-3 win over the Olentangy Gray Sox in 13-and-under travel baseball action Tuesday night.

On the mound for the Cubs, Nolan Robson and Josh Kilgore combined for six strikeouts.

Offensively, Caleb Stevens, Jacob Powell and Drew Jackson each had three hits. Stevens and Powell each tripled and Evan Smith homered and doubled.

West Liberty III notches win

West Liberty III Big Orange Shoe Shop outlasted West Liberty IV 20-15 in a recent county T-ball game.

Brevin Louden had two home runs and a double for West Liberty III.

Reese Oder, Isaiah Reminder, Brilee Joseph, Hayden Sanford, Silas Kauffman, Carissa Cozad and Jackson Steider each scored multiple runs for the winners.
