TIPP CITY — For the first time in the postseason, Triad’s softball team was dealt some adversity Wednesday. The Cardinals refused to let it slow them down.

After falling behind 4-1 and 5-2, Triad battled back for a 7-5 victory over Newton in a Division IV regional semifinal in Tipp City.

Triad, now 13-16, advances to play the winner of today’s game between Marion Local and Covington for a state berth at noon Saturday.
