West Liberty-Salem’s Landon Hormann was a wanted man by both college football and basketball coaches. In the end, hoops won out.
Hormann has decided to play basketball at Wittenberg University. He picked Wittenberg over the University of Findlay.
“I liked the hometown feel there,” said Hormann of Wittenberg. “Here at West Liberty, we have a big fan base and we get great support at our games. It was the same way when I went to basketball games at Wittenberg. It just felt right.”
Hormann had long considered basketball his future pursuit in college, but did a little bit of reconsidering after a strong performance in the Ohio North-South All-Star football game in April.
“After that game, I had some coaches talk to me about playing football in college,” said Hormann. “Some schools showed interest and I thought about it for two or three weeks, but it was not enough to make me change my mind.”
