Pirates’ Jackson claims 2 titles, Gopher girls fourth at NWCC meet

Riverside sophomore Ella Jackson captured two individual league titles to highlight Saturday’s local action at the Northwest Central Conference track and field meet in Waynesfield.

The Pirate distance star claimed NWCC crowns in the 1,600 in 5:58.1 and the 3,200 in 13:46.5. She also took second in the 800 in 2:40.2.

It was also a solid performance from the Ridgemont girls track squad, which slipped past Riverside 58-57 to finish in fourth.

W-Goshen’s boys earned another NWCC championship on Saturday after scoring 172 points. Fairbanks was not far behind in second with 167 points, Lima Perry was a distant third with 58 points, Upper Scioto Valley was one point back in fourth with 57 points.
