Triad’s softball team is now without 12 of the wins it had previously earned this season.
It was discovered by school officials April 25 that a Triad player was possibly in violation of the state’s eight-semester rule, which states that: “After a student completes the eighth grade, or is otherwise eligible for high school athletics, the student shall be eligible for a period not to exceed eight semesters taken in order of attendance, whether the student participates or not.”
According to Triad athletic director Greg Howell, the player in question was immediately removed from competition and the matter was self-reported to the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
