The first night of Central Buckeye Conference track and field action saw two local girls win individual league titles Tuesday at Bellefontaine High School.

The Chieftains’ Brenda Johnson won a CBC title in the girls shot put with a throw of 40-3, while Benjamin Logan standout Alex Thompson claimed a league title in the high jump with a height of 5-2.
It was also an impressive first day for the BHS girls team as a whole. The Chiefs are currently in first place with 24 points. Greenon is second with 17 points, Urbana is third with 16 points, Tippecanoe was fourth with 12.5 points and Ben Logan is fifth with 11 points. Indian Lake’s girls did not score.
Tecumseh leads the boys meet with 28.5 points, Tippecanoe is sitting in second with 18 points, Urbana and Greenon are tied for third with 17 points, the Chieftains are fifth with 15 points, the Lakers are sixth with 13.5 points and the Raiders are ninth with seven points.
