Benjamin Logan’s baseball team used a big second inning to put away visiting Milton-Union 14-4 in five innings on Tuesday in a sectional tournament opener.

The Raiders are now 12-14 overall this season and travel to fourth-seeded Greenville for a sectional semifinal Thursday.
Milton-Union grabbed a 3-1 lead after the first inning, but Ben Logan blitzed the Bulldogs for nine runs in the bottom of the second inning. That allowed the Raiders to pull away for a 10-3 advantage.
Ben Logan added another run in the bottom of the third inning for an 11-3 lead. The Bulldogs scored a run in the top of the fourth frame to trail 11-4.
The Raiders wrapped up the win with three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Zane Collins picked up the win on the mound for Ben Logan. He had nine strikeouts, two walks and gave up four hits. He also went 2-4 with two RBI with his bat.
Also for the Raiders, Collen Pulfer went 3-4 with a double and two RBI and Kam Newland added two RBI.
