Indian Lake volleyball standout Claire Maier felt an instant connection with the coaching staff at Hiram College. That strong first impression led Maier to eventually deciding on continuing her career at the northeast Ohio school.
“The main reason I picked Hiram was because of their coach and the style they play,” said Maier. “I feel like I can go in and get some playing time as a freshman. It just felt like a good fit for me.”
Hiram is a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference and competes at the NCAA Division III level. Maier also seriously considered the College of Wooster.
“When I first saw a Division III game, I knew that is where I wanted to play,” said Maier.
Indian Lake head coach Blythe Moorhouse was impressed with the way Maier handled the college selection process.
