Gloria’s Tumbling takes third at state meet

Gloria’s Tumbling Team recently placed third overall at the Ohio State Tumbling and Trampoline State Championship at the University of Rio Grande.

The team also earned two first-place team awards, two second-place team awards and two third-place team awards.

All team members who placed in the top 10 will be eligible to compete in the USTA Nationals, which are in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., in June.

Three tumblers received individual awards. Bailey Penhorwood was awarded with an advanced patch and received a $200 scholarship, Allison Penny was awarded an advanced patch and was named to the Ohio All-State Team along with Khierstyn Branan. They both will receive an Ohio All-State uniform and get to attend a special training camp for all the Ohio All-State Team.

Local results from the state meet are listed below in the order of tumbling, trampoline and double-mini trampoline. The competitor’s age is in parenthesis.
