Benjamin Logan’s boys and girls junior high track and field teams both finished second at their own Raider Invitational on Thursday.
Lehman Catholic won the girls meet, the Raiders were second, Anna took third and West Liberty-Salem came in fourth.
Ben Logan’s boys finished second in the 16-team meet with 71 points. The Tiger boys tied for 11th place.
Aly Brose led the Raider girls and was named the meet’s most valuable athlete. She set two meet records by winning the 100 in 17.4 and the 200 in 32.5.
Corren Crosby also had a standout effort after winning the long jump with a meet-record distance of 14-3 and won the shot put with a school-record toss of 34-7 1/2.
Finishing second were Allison Wilson in the 200 hurdles and Jessica Hillery in the discus, while third-place finishes came from the 1,600 relay of Wilson, Brose, Crosby and Khloe Camper, who also took fourth in the 100 and 200.
Winning for the Ben Logan boys were the 400 relay of Andy Griffith, Clay Bibart, Preston Cozad and Josh Whitten (50.2), the 1,600 relay of Mitch Current, Gabe VanDyke, Justin Jordan and Bryden Penhorwood (4:13.4) and Bibart in the shot put (37-10).
Placing second were Jordan in the 800 (2:29.5) and the 1,600 (5:28.9) and Austin Nicholl in the discus (112-10).
Finishing third were Mason Roberts in the discus (105-7) and the 800 relay of Griffith, Bibart, Cozad and Whitten (1:50.3) with VanDyke adding a fourth-place effort in the 200 hurdles (30.6).
WL-Salem’s girls had one winner in the 400 relay of Laine Godwin, Taylor Lauck, Tory Cordell and Aubrie Stillings.
Taking second were Stillings in the long jump and the 1,600 relay of Lauck, Jenna Magnuson, Janie Kopus and Reghan Bieleski.
For the Tiger boys, Brandon Wilson won the long jump.
