Lowe, Cards clamp down on Tigers for 12-1 victory

Doug Lowe fired a two-hitter as visiting Triad cruised to a 12-1 win over West Liberty-Salem in an Ohio Heritage Conference baseball game Thursday night.

The Cardinals stay perfect on the season at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the OHC, while the Tigers slip to 1-2, 1-1.

Lowe also had a big day with the bat, going 2-4 with a home run and three RBI.

The score was tied 1-1 after the opening inning. Neither team scored in the second inning, but the Cardinals broke loose for six runs in the third inning to take a 7-1 lead.
